What’s Happening?
The BCIS database is scheduled for a major upgrade. This will web-enable BCIS, allowing users to access their hospital data over the internet/N3 network via a browser (Internet Explorer (8 and upwards), Safari, Firefox, Chrome).

The work will start on 13th July and is expected to take 3 days to complete. During this time, BCIS will be offline. We plan to have BCIS back online on 16th or 17th July. Watch for news updates in the Portal.

After the Upgrade

Once the upgrade is complete, BCIS will remain accessible via Lotus Notes but with limited functionality. You be able to create reports (Aggregate, Delays, VLAD, Funnel, Participation Report) via Lotus Notes. Everything else has been moved to the web (direct data entry, import, delete, export).

If you try to do something in Lotus Notes that has been moved to the web, you will be automatically re-directed.

BCIS development phase II will involve moving the BCIS reports over to the web, after which access via Lotus Notes will be discontinued. This work is due to start after the first upgrade (phase I).

What We Want From You

Between now and 12th July, BCIS will work in Lotus Notes as normal.

Prior to the upgrade, we need to ensure you can logon to the NICOR Web Portal, which is where BCIS web will be hosted. To do this, you will need a web User name and password.

How to find your web User name

Launch Lotus Notes. Your BCIS web User name is the same as your Lotus Notes User name.

In the example below, Lucy locket’s web User name is Lucy Locket/FRE/NICOR
